Frequently asked questions
WHAT IS THE PROFILE OF A PLAYER FOR WHOM KTA IS A GOOD FIT?
Kass Tennis Academy is for high-achieving players who are interested in discovering the limits of their personal and tennis abilities. KTA players include current ATP/WTA players such as JJ Wolf, Mikael Torpegaard, and Katrina Scott as well as exceptional junior players who have already demonstrated world-class potential. It is expected that KTA players will balance significant travel schedules and use KTA as a home training base throughout the year.
WHAT IS THE FIRST STEP TO TRAINING AT KTA?
The best place to start is with a phone call or an email. From there, after an initial discussion to explore the fit, we would look to arrange a 2–3 day training visit in Columbus where we evaluate the players and they can learn about our approach.
WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT EXPECTATION FROM STUDENTS?
We expect students and their families to be part of KTA because they believe in the principles of the programming and the path it offers to an individual’s development as a tennis player and a person.
THERE ARE LOTS OF ACADEMIES IN FLORIDA WHERE PLAYERS CAN BE SURROUNDED BY COMPETITION. WHY OHIO?
It’s an important question to ask, and one we certainly welcome. Our coaching methodology is the most compelling reason to come to KTA, and our track record of developing world-class players demonstrates our success. Additionally, as a mission-driven non-profit organization, we’re able to create player:coach ratios and provide individual attention unrivaled at other American tennis academies.
